Servo Control
Subwoofer servo control uses feedback related to driver motion to help the amplifier correct the driver's response to the audio signal.
A sensor observes the driver and feeds information into the control loop. It may use a motion sensor or a sensing coil rather than relying only on the amplifier’s electrical output.
Servo Control — Subwoofer
The loop compares the sensed behavior with the intended signal and adjusts the drive to reduce the difference. This can help control errors in driver motion within the system's operating limits. The servo is concerned with the moving driver, not simply with an equalization curve applied before amplification.
Compare measured output, distortion and frequency response alongside the stated feedback method. Servo availability alone does not establish a particular performance improvement or maximum level. An ordinary amplifier feedback loop, a DSP limiter or built-in room equalization is not enough to demonstrate driver-motion feedback. The subwoofer design and operating conditions still matter.
