Supply Output Type
Power supply output type identifies whether a supply delivers DC, low-voltage AC or a generated drive signal for a turntable motor.
These outputs serve different electrical requirements. DC maintains one polarity; AC alternates. A motor-drive supply can generate a waveform whose frequency sets the speed of a compatible synchronous turntable motor.
Supply Output Type — Power Supply
The type helps determine whether the supply can power the intended component. A DC input needs the specified DC voltage and polarity, while an AC input requires the appropriate alternating supply. A turntable motor controller may also provide electronic speed selection through its generated drive signal.
Compare output type alongside voltage, current capacity, connector and equipment compatibility. A matching plug or voltage number does not make AC and DC interchangeable. A supply feeding ordinary DC to a turntable remains a DC supply; the turntable connection alone does not establish a generated speed-control output.
