Supported Input Audio Formats
Supported input audio formats list the digital signals accepted by each named input.
The list can include PCM bit depths and sample rates and supported native DSD or DoP rates. Input capabilities are separate from output formats and from a bare connector count.
Supported Input Audio Formats — Headphone
For headphones with a digital input, the list describes what their receiving electronics accept through that connection. USB audio and another digital mode can have different limits.
Compare the source signal with the specific input’s format list. A wireless codec list or file extension does not replace a PCM/DSD input specification. Keep the supplied cable’s connector type separate from the formats actually accepted by the headphones.
Supported Input Audio Formats — Upscaler
For an upscaler, per-input format limits determine which source streams can enter the processing path. Its highest generated output may exceed the formats accepted on a particular input.
Compare the intended input’s full PCM or DSD limits and transfer method. Do not apply a USB limit to an optical connection without stated support. A list of output formats describes the other direction and cannot establish input compatibility.
