Threaded Mount
A threaded mount uses mating screw threads to secure a component or support.
Also called: Threaded body
The thread size and engagement must suit the parts being joined. A mounting hole can be threaded or simply allow a screw to pass through.
Threaded Mount — Cartridge
On a cartridge, this field identifies a body with threaded mounting holes or inserts. The fixing screws engage the cartridge directly, so separate nuts are not needed for those mounting points.
Compare the specified screw thread and permitted screw length with the headshell and cartridge. Through-holes that require nuts are a different arrangement. Missing information about the holes does not confirm either design, and a screw that is too long can interfere with the cartridge even when its thread matches.
Threaded Mount — Damping Feet
On isolation feet, a threaded mount attaches the foot to a compatible mounting point on the component. This can replace an existing screw-in foot when the thread and physical arrangement are suitable.
Compare thread diameter, pitch, engagement length and available clearance before choosing a replacement. A foot that merely sits beneath a component is not a threaded mounting arrangement. Matching the thread does not by itself establish that the replacement has the correct load capacity or adjustment range.
