Tonearm Output Connector

The tonearm output connector is where the cartridge’s signal leaves the arm for the phono stage, which amplifies it.

Sockets on the arm or its termination box accept a detachable cable: five-pin DIN, five-pin mini XLR, RCA (Cinch) or XLR. DIN and mini XLR are different connectors. A captive cable is fixed to the arm and ends in RCA or XLR plugs.

Match both cable ends: a DIN arm output and RCA phono inputs need a DIN-to-RCA cable. On a complete turntable, check the fitted arm’s output. Headshell connectors and internal arm-wand joints do not count here.

List the standard connections supplied together. An optional XLR version is not an extra output on the standard RCA version. Connector shape alone does not establish balanced operation: the cartridge, wiring, cable and phono-stage input must support it.
