Total Load Capacity

Total Load Capacity is the maximum combined load the complete rack is rated to carry in the specified configuration.

It applies across the rack rather than to one shelf. The rating can depend on the fitted supports, feet or wheels and on how the load is distributed. It is separate from the rack’s own weight and from any shelf limit.

Total Load Capacity — Rack

Add the weights of the supported equipment and accessories, then check each shelf’s load separately. Staying below the total limit does not permit one shelf to exceed its own rating. Likewise, adding up shelf ratings does not establish the complete rack’s permitted load.

Use the rating for the assembled configuration and follow instructions about placement, anchoring and movement. Heavy equipment high in the rack can affect stability even when the weight is within the limit. The capacity figure does not prove that a loaded rack can be rolled, lifted or repositioned safely; those actions require separate guidance.
