12 V Trigger Output

The number of 12 V trigger outputs available to control the power state of compatible equipment.

A value of two means two output connections. Each sends a control signal, not music or the connected amplifier’s operating power. That amplifier still needs its own power supply. The 12 V label describes the control voltage, not audio power.

12 V Trigger Output — Preamp

Connect a preamp’s trigger output to a compatible amplifier’s trigger input. This can let the amplifier turn on or enter standby with the preamp, saving a separate power-button press.

Before connecting, check both manuals for the required cable and confirm that the receiving input’s voltage and current requirements match the output’s limits. Check the trigger settings too: activation may need configuring. Output count alone tells you neither compatibility nor how the outputs are controlled.
