USB Audio Input
USB audio input count identifies connections that receive digital audio from a compatible USB host.
This field covers USB-B-family or otherwise unspecified USB audio inputs; explicitly USB-C inputs are counted separately. Charging-only and storage-host ports serve different functions.
USB Audio Input — DAC
On a DAC, this connection receives audio from a computer or compatible source acting as the USB host. The DAC operates as the receiving USB audio device.
Compare USB audio support, software requirements and accepted formats, not just the socket shape. A USB-A port for a storage drive is a different role. The USB version or an audio-class label alone is not an input count.
USB Audio Input — USB Reclocker
On a USB reclocker, this input connects the host source to the reclocker’s incoming audio path. Its output connection then serves the next device according to the supported arrangement.
Compare source compatibility and accepted formats separately from the reclocker’s output connector. An output port is not another input, and a separate power connector should not be counted as an audio input merely because it uses USB.
USB Audio Input — Upscaler
On an upscaler, a USB audio input receives a compatible host’s digital stream before conversion or filtering. Input capability and the generated output format are separate limits.
Compare accepted USB audio formats and any driver requirements with the source. A maximum upscaled output rate does not automatically establish the same input rate. Keep storage, service and charging ports outside the audio-input count.
USB Audio Input — Headphone Amp
On a headphone amplifier with a USB DAC function, the input receives digital audio for internal conversion and amplification. It can provide an audio path from a compatible computer or other USB host.
Compare supported USB audio operation and formats with the source. A connector used only to power or charge the amplifier does not establish digital playback. Count physical audio inputs rather than supported USB modes or audio channels.
