Voltage Selectable

Selectable Output Voltage indicates whether an external power supply offers a choice of DC output-voltage settings.

The choice may use a switch, menu or interchangeable configuration part. This feature concerns the voltage delivered to the powered device, not a selector for the incoming mains voltage. The supported settings and their associated current limits must be checked separately.

Voltage Selectable — Power Supply

Select only a voltage specified for the connected device and follow the supply’s instructions for making the change. Disconnect or power down equipment where required; a setting change can expose the device to a different voltage immediately. A correct connector does not prevent damage from an incorrect setting.

Confirm polarity and available current at the chosen voltage. Some supplies have different limits across settings or outputs. Selectability does not imply continuous adjustment or automatic recognition of the device’s needs. Record the intended setting and verify it before reconnection rather than treating a multi-voltage supply as universally compatible.
