Width
Width is the side-to-side dimension of a component in its stated orientation.
Also called: Body width
The measurement may include or exclude projecting fittings. It describes physical size rather than a standard mounting format or the total space needed for access.
Width — SACD Transport
For a SACD transport, width helps establish how much side-to-side space the unit occupies on its support.
Compare whether handles or other projections are included. Allow access to any side connections or controls; a stated width does not automatically establish 19-inch rack compatibility.
Width — Cartridge
For a cartridge, width is the side-to-side dimension of the cartridge body.
Compare bare-body measurements without the stylus guard, headshell or mounting plate. Preserve any included-part condition on the published figure; body width is separate from mounting-hole spacing.
Width — Upscaler
For a digital upscaler, width helps establish how much side-to-side space the unit occupies on its support.
Compare whether handles or other projections are included. Allow access to any side connections or controls; a stated width does not automatically establish 19-inch rack compatibility.
Width — Crossover
For an active crossover, width helps establish how much side-to-side space the unit occupies on its support.
Compare whether handles or other projections are included. Allow access to any side connections or controls; a stated width does not automatically establish 19-inch rack compatibility.
Width — Step-Up Transformer (SUT)
For a step-up transformer, width helps establish how much side-to-side space the unit occupies on its support.
Compare whether handles or other projections are included. Allow access to any side connections or controls; a stated width does not automatically establish 19-inch rack compatibility.
Width — Super Tweeter
For a super tweeter, width helps check the supporting surface and physical fit beside other equipment.
Allow for any mounting projections. The enclosure width does not identify driver diameter or the acoustic spacing needed relative to the main speaker.
Width — Power Regenerator
For a power regenerator, width helps establish how much side-to-side space the unit occupies on its support.
Compare whether handles or other projections are included. Allow access to any side connections or controls; a stated width does not automatically establish 19-inch rack compatibility.
Width — External Clock
For an external clock, width helps establish how much side-to-side space the unit occupies on its support.
Compare whether handles or other projections are included. Allow access to any side connections or controls; a stated width does not automatically establish 19-inch rack compatibility.
Width — Music Server
For a music server, width helps establish how much side-to-side space the unit occupies on its support.
Compare whether handles or other projections are included. Allow access to any side connections or controls; a stated width does not automatically establish 19-inch rack compatibility.
Width — MC Head Amp
For a phono head amp, width helps establish how much side-to-side space the unit occupies on its support.
Compare whether handles or other projections are included. Allow access to any side connections or controls; a stated width does not automatically establish 19-inch rack compatibility.
Width — Loudspeaker
For a loudspeaker, width describes the side-to-side cabinet footprint.
Check whether grilles, feet or outriggers extend beyond the cabinet. The width alone does not establish the spacing required for stable placement or the intended acoustic performance.
Width — Power Filter
For a power filter, width helps establish how much side-to-side space the unit occupies on its support.
Compare whether handles or other projections are included. Allow access to any side connections or controls; a stated width does not automatically establish 19-inch rack compatibility.
Width — USB Reclocker
For a USB reclocker, width helps establish how much side-to-side space the unit occupies on its support.
Compare whether handles or other projections are included. Allow access to any side connections or controls; a stated width does not automatically establish 19-inch rack compatibility.
Width — Preamp
For a preamplifier, width helps establish how much side-to-side space the unit occupies on its support.
Compare whether handles or other projections are included. Allow access to any side connections or controls; a stated width does not automatically establish 19-inch rack compatibility.
Width — Power Amp
For a power amplifier, width helps establish how much side-to-side space the unit occupies on its support.
Compare whether handles or other projections are included. Allow access to any side connections or controls; a stated width does not automatically establish 19-inch rack compatibility.
Width — Streamer
For a streamer, width helps establish how much side-to-side space the unit occupies on its support.
Compare whether handles or other projections are included. Allow access to any side connections or controls; a stated width does not automatically establish 19-inch rack compatibility.
Width — Power Supply
For an external power supply, width helps establish how much side-to-side space the unit occupies on its support.
Compare whether handles or other projections are included. Allow access to any side connections or controls; a stated width does not automatically establish 19-inch rack compatibility.
Width — Subwoofer
For a subwoofer, width describes the side-to-side cabinet footprint.
Check whether grilles, feet or outriggers extend beyond the cabinet. The width alone does not establish the spacing required for stable placement or the intended acoustic performance.
Width — Digital Audio Player
For a portable player, width describes the side-to-side case dimension in the stated orientation.
Compare it with the intended pocket or case while allowing for the other dimensions and connected plugs. Screen width is not the same as overall player width.
Width — Equalizer
For an equalizer, width helps establish how much side-to-side space the unit occupies on its support.
Compare whether handles or other projections are included. Allow access to any side connections or controls; a stated width does not automatically establish 19-inch rack compatibility.
Width — Optical Equalizer
For an optical-cartridge equalizer, width helps establish how much side-to-side space the unit occupies on its support.
Compare whether handles or other projections are included. Allow access to any side connections or controls; a stated width does not automatically establish 19-inch rack compatibility.
