Wireless Audio

Wireless audio describes whether a subwoofer receives its programme signal through a built-in receiver or an optional wireless kit.

The wireless link replaces the audio cable between source equipment and subwoofer. It does not remove the need for power. A wireless connection used only by a setup or control app is different from wireless delivery of the bass signal.

Wireless Audio — Subwoofer

A built-in receiver provides the receiving hardware inside the subwoofer, but its compatible transmitter may still be separate. A wireless-ready design instead needs the specified receiver or adapter kit. Either arrangement can help place a subwoofer where running a signal cable is inconvenient.

Compare the link, including transmitter inclusion, supported connection and any stated latency. Delay can affect integration with the main speakers, so follow the system's setup procedure. Bluetooth or Wi-Fi app control alone does not establish wireless audio. 'Wireless' also does not imply battery operation or compatibility with an arbitrary transmitter.
