Word Clock Output
Word-clock output support means a device can send a word-clock timing signal to compatible equipment.
This is a capability statement, separate from the number of clock-output sockets. The receiving device must support the signal and rate being supplied.
Word Clock Output — USB Reclocker
A USB reclocker with this function can provide a timing reference for another compatible component. The word-clock signal carries timing; it is not a substitute for the digital audio connection between devices.
Compare generated clock rates, output electrical conditions and the receiving device’s requirements. Do not infer word-clock output from the presence of an internal oscillator or an ordinary digital audio output. If more than one component is involved, follow the supported clock-source and termination arrangement rather than connecting clock outputs together.
